Assignment Title: Q2 Mid Unit Beowulf Values

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to score a 95% or higher in all my assessments and sore a “5” in the statement of
focus category. I want to stay in topic my entire paper and use enough textual evidence with my minimal grammar.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this essay is to read Beowulf and talk about the Anglo- Saxons beliefs. How the beliefs of
them went on with the story Beowulf. We had to write about what types of beliefs they had was is it Kingman
ship, honor, courage, or religion? We had to choose three points and write about what beliefs went with them.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I think that I did okay it was not the best work that I have done. It was also late so that also took some points
off my essay. I could have done better if it was turned in on time. I think my ideas were okay they might have
needed a little help, but with my teacher who gave me tips it went okay.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think I did good in the flow of the essay. I think that I didn’t repeat myself as much as I used to in the past. I
think that I also did a good job in the quotes. The flow of the essay was good I talked about a point then I
would proceed with a quote to back it up very good. Like if we were talking about loyalty, I would say how
Wiglaf was loyal to Beowulf because he didn’t run away like the other men did.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this essay because I wanted to get a higher grade then I did before. I think I did decent on
this essay this time around, but I want to get a higher grade so that I would have good grades in my
assignments. not only for me to see but for my classmates and teachers to see how far I have come from the
beginning of the year to now.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
What I would do better is manage my time. Not try to do things last minute because if I do then the
assignments will be half credit even if I were to do a good job it would still not be good enough for a good
grade so, what I will do is manage my time and ask people to revise my essays so I can also get feedback
from other people so my essays can be even better.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I did not achieve my goal I got a low grade on an essay I thought I would get a good grade on. This is my
fault because I should have turned it in on time also, I should have asked around for more feedback instead of
just doing it myself. If I would have let people give me feedback or just look at it my essay could have gotten
a better score.
