Dear Parent,

Greetings from Sri Chaitanya School. We are happy that another Academic Year was successfully
completed, with all your valuable support and the combined efforts of our able teaching staff and the best
from your child.

For the next 1½ month, your child is going to be with you, under your total protection and care. We did our
best during the just finished academic year, to your child all that is needed to make the children perfect in all
the fronts. You have witnessed for yourself, the care we have taken in academic front and all round
development front.

Now it is your turn for a period of more than one month, and we request your kind attention regarding the
points mentioned below, for the benefit of your child.

1. Please do not allow your children to sit on Mobile Phone or Computer System all through the day.
This makes them couch-potatoes.
2. Allow them to go into the sun and play at least for some time every day. Let them fall down and get
hurt. Let them get tired and exhausted. This makes them physically fit and tough to the challenges of
life. Sitting on sofas and soft beds 24 hours makes them delicate and easily hurt, both physically and
mentally.
3. Please have a family Breakfast and Family Dinner all these days. (As Family Lunch may not be
possible when parents may go out on work). This helps in building Family Bondage. While having
such meals, speak to them about the hard work of farmers in growing the crops and tell them not to
waste food. Speak to them about the people who don’t have 2 flat meals a day.
4. Take your children for an outing in the evenings as many times as possible.
5. Buy and give them a few books with moral stories, ethics and the biographies of famous people and
make them read the books regularly.
6. Make them read the English Newspaper daily. Take a subscription to an English Newspaper for these
two months and set a time for them in the morning or evening for half an hour to read the newspaper.
7. Make them understand how the scientists, soldiers and armed forces are working day and night for
the nation staying away from their families, in such a way that patriotic feelings are awakened in the
children. Give them such kind of books and show them movies with this theme.
8. Allot some time for Career Planning. Tell them about the various options they have in life to come
up and make a better and comfortable career.
9. Show them the Motivational and Inspirational videos of famous people written by prominent authors
and make them read their books of motivation and inspiration.
10. Take them to your place of work, office, shop or factory, and make them witness how hard you are
working for their good and how hard it is making money for their family.
 11. Teach them the value of Self-Help, by making them wash their own plate after eating or making their
beds on their own. Make them arrange book racks in their rooms neatly. Teach them how to polish
their shoes, trim their nails and wash their own socks.
12. Make them practice Lucida Handwriting for at least half an hour per day. Tell how important it is to
have a good handwriting to have an inspiring personality.
13. Find out in what fine art they are interested in and join them in that course. May it be dance, singing,
instrumental music, painting, find out a good trainer and send them to learn that fine art. This makes
them confident in life and makes a good way of passing their time in leisure. This brings out their
innate talents and makes them recognized in the world.
14. Allow them to help you in kitchen and other household work. Let them make some nice curry or at
least a fruit drink or salad. Praise their work, so that they feel the pride of doing their own work.
15. Ask them to learn at least 10 new words, their meanings and their opposites in English. Make them
display the words on a chart or white board if it is possible.
16. Make them develop good relation with the neighbours. Send them to the neighbours’ houses and to
participate in small functions held by the neighbours.
17. Take them to their grandparents for some time. Make them to spend time with the grandparents and
to share their experience and advice. Take photos of their company with the grandparents and save
them.
18. Make your children plant at least one plant that can grow into a shady tree. Make them understand
that their future also should grow along with the tree. Let them understand that trees are the only
hope to have a good and healthy environment.
19. While being with your children, share your childhood experiences and the hardships of your
forefathers. Let them understand that life is not a bed of roses for everybody.
20. If possible, let them have a pet dog, cat or fish. Let them understand the value of care and concern.
21. Make them understand the value of saving money. Give them a task of making an imaginary budget.
Train them in avoiding unnecessary and wasteful expenditure.
22. Teach them good food habits, table manners and cleanliness. Teach them how to stay healthy and
neat.
23. Once at least, take them to an Orphanage or an Old-age Home and let them see the misery of the
orphans and abandoned old people. Make them distribute fruits, sweets or clothes so that they can
learn the value of care and share.

If you could do this, your children will grow in healthy atmosphere, with all human values and ready to face
the outside world with courage. They do not yield to small disappointments and failures. We are training our
teachers in Annual Workshops in making your child’s future a brighter one the next year. We request you to
do your best to give us a more refined student to do our part in a more effective way.

and a more useful India.
