Help Remove Stigma

Tues l 30 Navigating life with a mental health

day, Apri condition can be tough, and the isolation
and blame because of perceived stigma
can prevent people from reaching out to
get needed support.
Learning how to cope with stigma
and how to avoid and address stigma are
important for all of us, no matter if we
are the person with the condition or not.
Valley County CARE Mental Health
Committee encourages everyone to
learn about positive mental health,
to see the person and not the illness,
and then make a difference by raising
awareness of the help that is available in
our community.
Help Valley CARE Coalition get
rid of stigma. Join the Stop the Stigma
Mental Health Awareness Walk on
Saturday, May 4th, 10:00 a.m. at the
Valley Events Center: no cost, two brief
presentations by persons who have
recovered from a period of behavioral
health problems, good information
brochures, some mementos, a short
fresh air walk, and done in less than a
hour.
There will be a drawing for a Yeti
cooler, courtesy of D & G Sports &
Western, and a chance to get $25 in
Chamber Big Bucks for a good idea on
how to help our community promote
behavioral health wellness.
