Jane Doe – Rehab Manager

Mercy Health
Muskegon, MI

Re: Rehab Aide – Relief

Dear Jane:

I found a job posting for rehab aide in your therapy department on an online job site. As a graduate
from the University of Michigan with a BS in Movement Science and a current student in a physical
therapy assistant (PTA) program this job would be a great fit for me.

Previously, I have worked as a rehab aide in a lymphedema clinic under the direction of multiple
rehabilitation therapists. Not only did I gain experiences in transferring patients, maintaining clean work
environments, and aiding the therapists, but I also gained a valuable understanding of the unique,
team-oriented professional relationship between therapists and aides, as well as experience
collaborating with healthcare professionals from different vocations to ensure better patient-centered
care.

My degree in Movement Science has provided me a great foundation of knowledge in anatomy and
physiology as well as more advanced areas such as biomechanics and motor control, all of which
would prove very useful as a rehab aide. During my undergraduate education I also participated in
classes that gave me first-hand experience with the application of physical activity in both typically and
atypically developing children. I also worked a year with an athletic trainer, which gave me direct,
hands-on experience working with sports-related injuries and injury prevention exercise programing.

I am currently in my last year of a PTA program. My education in bed mobility, transfers, patient
precautions and therapeutic exercise are just a few areas that will help me be a valuable member to
your rehab team.

I am confident that I have the rehabilitation experience and education background you are looking for in
a Rehab Aide. Please email or call me to arrange an interview. Thank you for your time -- I look forward
to learning more about this opportunity.

Respectfully,

Jon Mendicelli
