ABOUT OUR INSTITUTION
M.Tech Automotive Hybrid System Engineering and
SRM Institute of Science and Technology is one of the leading
educational Institutes in India with NAAC 'A' grade
accreditation. The areas of excellence range from Engineering
and Medicine to Management, Science & Humanities and Law.
SRMIST is unique with entrepreneurial heritage and pioneering
faculty to set standards in pragmatic education, knowledge
conception and research across various elds provide
research to address many of the current real-world problems.
The institute has an International Advisory Board from
corporate industries and eminent scholars from top universities
across the globe. During January 2011, SRMIST conducted the
98th Indian Science Congress where in six Nobel Laureates
interacted with our faculty & students. SRMIST is the rst
private institute to launch Nano satellite named SRMSAT onto
space on board the PSLV-C18 from Sriharikotta in 2011.
SRMIST is actively working on a hydrogen fuel cell powered
train project in collaboration with Integral Coach Factory which
is to be launched in 2019.Foreign faculty, exible and dynamic
curriculum, exciting research and global connections are the
features that set SRM apart. Advisory board includes members
from top Universities across the world like MIT, Stanford, UC
Berkeley, Cambridge and NUS help set Global Standards.
Students have a wide choice of cutting edge programs
including Nanotechnology, Bioinformatics, Genetic
Engineering, Remote Sensing and Gis, Embedded Systems or
Computer Forensics to choose from. Most of these courses are
offered in close collaboration with foreign universities. The over
all student population includes 80% from all over India and rest
from across the globe.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Automobile Engineering was established in
the year 2004. The prime focus of our department is to enhance
the abilities of the students to develop and sustain the
transformative systems of tomorrow, enabling them to be
future leaders and trend setters of the next generation. Our
Department offers comprehensive graduate level course in
undergraduate courses in B.Tech Automobile engineering and
also with automotive electronics specialization. As Chennai
serves as the automotive hub of India with the establishment of
many Automotive majors like Ford, Hyundai, BMW, Ashok
