 Assignment Objective
Objective:

The main aim of this assignment is to get students to

engage in practical tasks that will not only increase their
confidence but give them a better understanding of the
real world.

NOTE: This is a group task.

 Assignment
Picking any business of your choice, conduct an interview
with a businessman/woman in Islamabad. The interview
can be done in person or you can send a list of questions
to them via email if you are certain they will reply back to
you.

Write an essay based on the interview conducted. (Think

creatively on the factors given in the next slide and also
highlight some other factors that you will ask them.)

Also take into account how the business is contributing

towards the economy and the strategies they should have to
gain competitive advantage.

Market (size, growth etc.) – uniqueness of the idea.

Growth factors – (and future prospects) .

Competition

Fit with skills (people)

Management style (also link it to the theories of motivation we

have studied in class)

Financing the business

Conclusion on why this business is useful and what you

recommend to them to improve on and why

Other factors that you think are relevant (will get extra marks)

Add an APPENDIX page at the end of the essay with the list of
questions you asked the interviewee.
