HEALTH & SAFETY

Burns – The lighting equipment could get very hot so make sure to warn cast and crew not
to touch them when they are turned on and turn them off when not in use.
Actors coming down the stairs – Make sure actors do not run down the stairs when they do
so in the short film as they could trip and fall.
Cabling – cables along the floor can be a trip hazard so tape down the cables so no one trips
over them.
Manual handling – the filming equipment can be heavy and cause back pain and pulled
muscles so only carry what you are capable of carrying and ensure the responsibilities of
carrying it are shared between the group.

ACCESSIBILITY
The location can be accessed by all modes of transport and there is room for cars to park
outside. However, there is a small step up to the house so this would be an issue for anyone
in a wheelchair. There is a bus stop a 2 minute walk away and the train station is about a 20
minute walk away.
FACILITIES
There are three bathrooms, a kitchen (with food and drink), showers if needed and smokers
can smoke outside if there are any smokers on set.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
There is no need to inform the police about anything I am doing in my short film. Parking is
right outside the house.

outside and there is a ramp up to the house so if you had a wheelchair, there is easy access.
There is a bus stop a 5 minute walk away and the train station is about a 25/30 minute walk.

Electricity – check that the electrics have been safety checked recently and don’t put too
many adaptors into one plug so that the plugs don’t get too overcrowded, otherwise they
could blow up or electrocute somebody.
Due to being in a canteen, make sure that all the kitchen equipment is off before leaving
and tidy up.
ACCESSIBILITY
The location can be accessed by most modes of transport. There is a car park right outside
the media block and if that is full, there is one just across the road which is a five minute
walk max. There is a train station only a twenty minute walk away from the college or buses
go from the town centre to near the college. There are also bike parking racks to put
bicycles. There is also disabled parking and disabled access to the building by a ramp. The
canteen is open at all times as long as you have your lanyard to get in.

FACILITIES
There is the canteen (which we are filming in) which means there is food and drink
available. There are also vending machines around the building. There is a smoking area
near the car park and toilets around the campus.
There is disabled parking and disabled access to the building. It is all on the ground floor so
there is no need to worry about going up any stairs. There is no need to inform the police or
other governmental organisations.

being filmed, the footage must be deleted.
Manual handling – camera equipment is heavy so take extra care to not carry anything you
can’t handle.
Vehicles – cars and trucks can drive down the high street so make sure to be aware of your
surroundings.

ACCESSIBILITY
The location is easily accessible by foot and there is a short stay car park available nearby (as
well as long stay car parks only a short walk away). The bus station is right next to the
location so anyone can access it by bus. There are no steps required to get to the location so
it is easily accessible for disabled people.
FACILITIES
There are many shops nearby that sell food and drink, as well as a variety of other shops.
Toilets are in the town centre and there are some close to the location (but you have to pay
to use these).
