Goal #2:
I will support my students in
developing better understanding of
vocabulary words through reading
and using the vocabulary words in a
sentence to check for understanding.
I feel it is important for students to
learn vocabulary words as they
strengthen their communication skills
and their vocabulary grows.
At the beginning of the school year in
August 2019-2020, each week
students will learn five to six
vocabulary words and their meanings.
By February 2020, 85% of students
will develop understanding of
vocabulary words through context
clues in reading.
Goal #3:
I will continue to create effective
lessons to teach my students which
will relate to real world problems to
support students in building higher
level thinking. I feel it is important
for students to connect with real
world problems and incorporate these
into their learning to produce deeper
thinking.
I plan to increase this goal and
become stronger by January 2020. I
will practice building my lessons to
include real world problems. By
January 2020, 75% of my students
will connect their thinking to real
world problems and by May 2020,
90% of my students will gain deeper
understanding of their learning.
