2. MÔ TẢ MÔN HỌC

Môn Viết 1(là môn học viết đầu tiên trong 3 môn viết) trang bị cho sinh viên năm nhất
kiến thức và kỹ năng viết một đoạn văn và bài luận tiếng Anh. Ngoài ra nó cũng hỗ trợ cho các
phân môn khác như Speaking, Reading Comprehension … trong việc sắp xếp ý tưởng khi giao
tiếp sao cho có tính logic, đủ ý (support), mạch lạc (coherence), và thống nhất (unity)..

3. MỤC TIÊU MÔN HỌC

3.1 Mục tiêu chung:
Sinh viên viết một đoạn văn và bài luận đúng hình thức, đúng thể loại, biết vận dụng kiến
thức ngữ pháp, từ vựng để diễn đạt ý tưởng của mình một cách đầy đủ và có logic
3.2. Mục tiêu cụ thể:
3.2.1 Kiến thức:
Sinh viên được cung cấp những kiến thức căn bản trong việc tổ chức và phát triển ý tưởng
khi viết một đoạn văn, sau đó là phát triển thành bài luận (essay) và bài nghiên cứu nhỏ
(research essay). Hướng dẫn sinh viên làm quen với cách diễn đạt và sắp xếp ý tưởng theo
phong cách viết của Anh ngữ.
3.2.2. Kỹ năng:
- Hướng dẫn sinh viên rèn luyện kỹ năng tìm, khai thác và trình bày các luận cứ để thực
hiện một bài viết mang tính học thuật (acdamic essay) và bài nghiên cứu nhỏ (research paper)
- Sinh viên rèn kỹ năng làm việc nhóm, làm việc độc lập, khả năng sử dụng công nghệ
thông tin tìm kiếm dữ liệu, khả năng tra cứu thông tin và trình bày cứ liệu theo qui định của môt
bài nghiên cứu.
3.2.3 Thái độ:
Nghiêm túc trong học tập, thói quen đúng thời gian qui định (theo lịch trình làm bài và
hoạt động nhóm), tránh việc gian lận (plagiarism).

6. ĐÁNH GIÁ KẾT QUẢ HỌC TẬP

Điểm giữa kỳ là trung bình của 02 bai viết của Unit 1 và 2. Tuy nhiên, tùy 40%
trình độ và tình hình học tập của từng lớp mà giáo viên có thể đưa vào một
số yếu tố khác để đánh giá hoạt động học tập của sinh viên như: làm dàn
bài, hoạt đông biên tập bài viết của bạn cùng lớp, hoạt động tự biên tập…
Hướng dẫn chấm điểm bài thi cuối khóa. 60%
Nhật ký làm việc: 50%
-Tuần 8: Đi thư viện lập “Working bibliography”, trình bày theo APA style
(5%)
-Tuần 9: Lập outline (informal outline) (10%)
-Tuần 10: Lập detailed outline. Gv kiểm tra các paraphrase, summary,
quotation của sinh viên (Sv nộp kèm bản gốc để Gv đối chiếu) (25%)
-Tuần 11: Sv sửa lần cuối outline và nhận tư vấn cuối cùng từ Gv (10%)
Bài viết: 50%
-Format : hình thức, sử dụng đúng hình thức (APA style) các trích dẫn,
references trình bày đúng hình thức (20%)
-Coherence, unity (10%)
-Language (20%)

Thang điểm tham khảo cho phần chấm bài essay giữa kỳ:

Thesis statement and the Does the writer write a Thesis statement on the topic that is
introduction (1m) given?
Is the introduction interesting and pertinent to the topic?
Unity (1m) Are all the sentences in the essay clearly related?
Coherence (1m) : Do the paragraphs and sentences follow each other in an orderly
Organization of ideas & way (in the logical way of each kind of the essay) ? Are
Cohesion transitions used to connect paragraphs and sentences?

Support (4m) Working diary:

- Collect data ( Teachers check : The source of information

Language skills (3m): - Are there frequent grammatical mistakes? Do the mistakes make
Grammar, mechanics, it difficult to understand the writer’s thoughts?
word choice, sentence - Does the writer use sentences involving different structures and

- Does the writer use sophisticated language?
- Are there many misspelled words? Is it sometimes difficult to
understand which word the writer intended?
- Are there frequent mistakes in capitalization and punctuation?

Part 1: Paraphrasing and Summarizing
- Introduction

- Students should be guided all the content of the
lesson.
- Any related extra information is encouraged.
- Correct the exercises in the textbook
- Do the exercises given by the teacher
- Students are allowed to go to the library to make
at least one paraphrase and one summary
(attached the original works for the teacher to
check). Finally, each student has to make a list
(followed the APA style) of at least 5 books/
magazines/ newspapers / unpublished works....
Students can find source of information for the
topic they are going to write in unit 4(choose one
of the topics in the list given below)
