The aim of this project was to create a virtual reality product
utilizing movement on the X, Y, and Z planes. In this project I created a “Cell defense simulator” located within a human heart. Heart Attack features cell collisions, particle effects, and dynamic user interface (UI) elements. When I was creating this project, I experienced many obstacles related to the UI. The Heart Attack UI consists of multiple images and panels layered together to create the final UI prototype, many of which were dynamic in nature. During the lifetime of certain elements unintentional interactions would occur. In order to address this I had to adjust image transparencies, blend panels to create colors, and utilize redundant text to avoid contrast issues. Two important takeaways I received from this project was getting the chance to work hands on with the particle system, and learning more about integrating Photoshop creations with Unity projects.
