Lesson Plan

Unit: Badminton

Standard: Standard Two, Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments


for Student Learning.
Lesson Objectives:
- Going over dual team shape to maximize the space of the court
and enhance the competitiveness of the game.
- Group students based on skill level for challenging games.
- Have students engage in games to enhance rallying and serving
techniques.
- Individually help students who are still struggling with positioning
by providing them with positive and prescriptive feedback.
Lesson Structure:
- 8:10 - Roll Call
- 8:15 – Cardio Workout
- 8:25 – Stretching/Setting up the badminton games
- 8:30 – Go over dual team spacing and strategy
- 8:35 - Dual Games begin
- 9:10 - Class Ends

Teaching Approaches:
- Students will improve their cardiovascular endurance during the
cardio circuit and flexibility during the stretching.
- I will discuss team dual shape and how important positioning is
for rallying.
- A visual model will be used to demonstrate proper team shape.
- I will be providing individual feedback for students that are still
struggling with positioning.

Unit: Volleyball

Lesson Objectives:
- Have students warm up and stretch so they are physically ready
for volleyball.
- Review the formation and structure for six versus six volleyball.
- Have students engage in games to enhance rallying and serving
techniques.
- Give individual help to students who are still struggling with
positioning by helping them with their posture and team
communication.
Lesson Structure:
- 8:10 - Roll Call
- 8:10-8:20 – Cardio Workout and stretch
- 8:20-8:25 – Review the provide a visual model for 6 versus 6
volleyball.
- 8:25-8:35- Students practice digging and setting with their team.
- 8:35-9:05 – Six versus six games begin
- 9:05 - Class Ends

Teaching Approaches:
- Students will engage their cardiovascular endurance during the
cardio warm up and improve their flexibility during the stretching.
- A visual model will be used to demonstrate six versus six
volleyball and review communication/formation.
- I will be circulating the gym and will provide individual feedback
for students that may need help with their technique.

Unit/Topic: Unit 2 Soccer

Strand: Standard 1- Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning

Lesson Objectives:
- Students should continue to develop proper technique for passing and receiving a

soccer ball by using the inside of their foot.

- Students should apply knowledge of skills to combine with their teammates to

cooperate and score goals.

- The rules of the game should enhance team play and allow for everyone to be involved

not just a select few players.

- The dimensions of the game should enhance individual composure on the ball and

critical thinking in the game.

Lesson Structure
8:10-8:15 Roll Call Teaching Approaches
8:15-8:20 Warm Up Walk quickly over to field and 1 lap jog

8:20-8:30 Technical Warm Up with the Ball Inside foot technique review

8:30-8:40 Teams Form and Model Demonstration Assigned Teams/Model a game

8:40-9:08 Three versus Three Small Sided Soccer Games Teams play, I help deconstruct
and help review transfer of skill.
