MODEL AFFECTED: 429

SUBJECT: TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER CAP AND ADAPTER

ASSEMBLY P/N 417-1474-3, INTRODUCTION OF

HELICOPTERS AFFECTED: Serial number 57001 through 57113.

Serial number 57114 and subsequent will have the

intent of this bulletin accomplished prior to delivery.

COMPLIANCE: As soon as practical but no later than 31 December

2012

DESCRIPTION:

The length of the existing retaining lanyard of the transmission oil filler cap and adapter
assembly P/N 417-1474-1 is too long and may cause the cap to interfere with the flight
controls if the latter has not been reinstalled after servicing the transmission. This
bulletin introduces a new oil filler cap and adapter assembly P/N 417-1474-3 which
includes a shorter retaining lanyard P/N 417-1894. This bulletin also provides
instructions to replace the retaining lanyard of the existing cap and adapter assembly
P/N 417-1474-1 with a shorter retaining lanyard P/N 417-1894 making the cap and
adapter assembly equivalent to P/N 417-1474-3.

Revision A of this bulletin provides a new anchor point for the oil filler cap lanyard.

Revision B of this bulletin provides the correct part number for the bracket in the
materials section.
