Philosophy of Management
Students today can be anything they wish, a firefighter, an astronaut, a plumber, an
actress etc. it is my job to give them skills that can take them to where they want to be.
Each student has different needs, skills and ambitions. Differentiating instruction and
understanding student needs is the best way to keep each student on the track to
success.
As Maslow explains in his hierarchy of needs, if student’s basic needs are not met,
he or she will not be able to perform elsewhere. I take great responsibility in ensuring
that my students needs are met while in the classroom. Creating a caring and nurturing
environment where students feel comfortable enhances their learning experience.
Students who respect and care for their teacher will be more likely to show good
behavior.
When students leave my classroom it is my goal for them to have a love for
learning in some capacity, whether it be in reading or in the arts, I hope to guide them
to a passion in some aspect. My philosophy is every student, every day. Every day
matters to each student, as teachers we must not forget our role in the students’ lives.

Instructional Planning

Planning is amongst one of the most important abilities in the world of teaching. Teachers should be prepared

with a solid plan in order to guide students and stay on track themselves. A superior teacher will follow these

guidelines when preparing lessons.

 Follow the school’s guidelines on unit and lesson planning.

 Is this lesson better for whole group instruction or small group instruction?

 Take into consideration students learning styles

 Consider student grouping (which students work well together)

 Technology and other resources

 Using researched based data to guide lessons

Unit and lesson plans should be easily obtainable for anyone who enters the classroom. Lesson objectives will be

clearly displayed for students as well as visitors. Teacher should have all materials prepared before the lesson. If

working in pods or grade levels teachers should meet to discuss prior to lesson planning.
