Description of artifact/assignment:
The assignment was an article we had to read and annotate in AP Environmental Science.

Why did you choose this as one of your artifacts/assignments?

In the article it talks about how doctors aren’t letting pregnant women know about different
chemicals and stuff to look out for. I chose this assignment because I think it is very important to
let these women know so that they are aware and it prevents future problems with the newborns.

What academic skills did you use that are specific to this artifact/assignment?

Critical thinking and problem solving, tolerate ambiguity.

What general academic skills did you use (skills that would be used in any academic class)?
I used study skills and critical thinking and problem solving.

Did you see growth in your targeted soft skills through the course of working on this
Artifact/Assignment? Explain.
I think I did because I was able to focus and finish the assignment in a reasonable time and I had
time to do other things when I finished the assignment.

Provide an example of how these academic and/or soft skills are used in a career in which you
are interested.
I am interested in merchandise marketing and innovation and creative thinking is important
because you really have to be able to be creative enough to pick out stuff that is trendy but also

unique. Self management is CHS Portfolio important because when you

are a merchandise marketer you have to travel and have a lot of work and you have to be able to
make time for yourself.
