Summary of ANDHRA PRADESH SOLAR POWER POLICY:

 India blessed with more solar power compared to any other countries in the world.
 Countries like India have more agricultural lands which need huge electricity and continuous
electricity in the long run.
 Using different ways of getting electricity can be achieved by making the farmers, corporate and
industrialists to know about the “solar power”.
 Andhra Pradesh is state were 24% of electricity is used in agricultural sectors.
 Andhra Pradesh has an availability of 300 sunny days in a calendar year...
 Government of Ap implemented various schemes regarding the solar power policy in 2012 and
2015.
 The schemes helped in setup of solar power projects in Andhra Pradesh.
 Solar power projects help the farmers getting the huge and continuous electricity through solar.
 Setup of solar power projects helps farmers, corporate and industrial like small sector industries.
 ApDISCOMS would procure around 2000MW of solar power capacity in a phased manner within
the next five year(s).
 The tenure may move in to long term pf PPA of 25 years with developers who are selected
based on a competitive procurement process as per the tariff based competitive bidding
guidelines notified by the ministry of power.
 Setup of solar power projects also help in getting the income by selling to the outside of Andhra
Pradesh to third parties.
 Solar parks: initially government of Ap will develop 400 MW capacity solar parks this help in the
building up of power evacuation, water requirements and internal roads.
 Solar rooftop projects: Andhra Pradesh government promote the rooftop systems in public
buildings, domestic, commercial and industrial establishment on gross or net meter basis.
 Solar pump sets: over 50,000 solar power pumpsets will be operational in next five year(s).
 Energy banking: 5% of energy delivered at point of drawl in the approval of
APTRANSCO/APDISCOMS.
 Land plays a major role in setup of solar power projects, district collector play a major role in the
acquiring the land in particular area.
 Pollution clearance: NOC/CONSENT for establishment under pollution control laws..
 NODAL AGENCY: NREDCAP shall act as a nodal agency under this policy and as decided by the
government from time to time.
 The approval from administrative plays a major role in the setup of solar projects.
 Project monitoring committee is treated as a high level committee which monitors the progress
of implementation of the solar power projects.
 Solar manufacturing: it helps in the promote solar manufacturing facility that can help develop
the solar eco system and support job creation potentialin the state.
 Review of power projects after two years or as and when need arises in view of any
technological breakthrough or to remove any inconsistency with electricity act 2003.
 Power to remove difficulties play a major role in setup of solar power projects to get a clearance
of manufacturing the solar projects.
