7 Crew Roles
Definition: the producer is someone who makes sure that everyone is in there
right places and their in charge of the paper work. The producers will make sure
everything is done to the best that it can be so it will be easier for the producer.
Definition: A director of photography is the chief over the camera and light crews.
Television production or other live action piece and is responsible for making
artistic and technical decisions related to the image.
Definition: The editor is the person that finalizes all the recordings of the film.
This means putting all the scenes together and doing all the special effects if
there is any needed.
Minor Roles
Definition: Assisting in developing and implementing plans and goals for the
department. Working with the director to coordinate and supervise daily
operations within the set.
Definition: the art director is in charge of making and making sure that any
creative products/props that are needed for the film are made.
Definition: the casting director is in charge of the cast and who is picked for each
part within the film.
Definition: The screenwriter is the writer of the script of a film. They create the
dialogue, the characters and the storyline of a movie script. The screenwriter is
often the most essential person in film production because no movie can start
without some form of a script
