As a third year kindergarten teacher at a Title 1 school in Chicago, I feel my
teaching experience and passion for education makes me an ideal candidate for a teaching position at your school.
During my education at Michigan State University and my three years of teaching
at Carnegie Elementary School, I have constantly valued respect. Respect creates the foundation for a successful classroom. Teachers must respect their students. Students must respect their teacher and their peers. Teachers and students must respect the importance of education and themselves. Through this foundation of respect, I have found an efficient and effective way of managing my classroom – consistency is key.
Through effective classroom management, I have been allowed the opportunity to
differentiate instruction through small groups, partner work, one-on-one interactions with the teacher, technology resources and more. This differentiation has allowed me to challenge all students, regardless of academic ability.
I bring a thoughtful and child-centered approach to teaching. I have created a
classroom where student’s thoughts are valued and expanded through decided and clear instruction, collaboration, and student voices.
It is my goal to combine my experience and values to make a positive contribution
to your school and community. I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
