Project-Based Learning Reflection

Class in which you did the project: Apes

Brief project description:

Me along with two other classmates made a project based on what we can do to prevent litter
getting into the drains and our water sources.

Your role for the project: I edited the video into a short montage.

What did you do, personally, to contribute to the overall project? Be specific!
I contributed time to work on the film during fifth period and making the clips short so that it can
be less than 55 sec. I used iMovie to edit the film and different angles of the same clip; I also
added music.

What did you learn about yourself in terms of time management, personal responsibility,
problem-solving, collaboration, or other soft skills via this project?
I learned that I am able to manage my time wisely because while i had to create this film I also
had to play 3 games that same week. The weather was gloomy and dirty so we had to work with
what we had because the water was flowing too fast for us to get a good clip. I had to
communicate with my peers about whether or not they wanted to touch up the clips or crop them
so that we can meet the requirements.

If you had an industry expert or mentor who assisted with this project, what are some
things that you learned from this person?
Some things I have learned from this project from a mentor was how to cut out unimportant
scenes, how to edit the music in the background and how to add voice overs.

How has this experience helped prepare you for college or careers beyond high school?
This experience has helped prepare me for college by making it a group project so that we can all
interact with one another and contribute ideas on how we can get the idea into play. This video
took a few days of thinking and time commitment because we are all doing different things at the
same time.
