Charlie chaplin was revolutioner, brave man full of beautiful personality. While wwll his movies were inspiring people and awaiking spark of some hope in them. Without speaking, without coloring, with humor and with the truth, he was delivering messages to people through television. In the time of misery he was the only one associated with smile. ‘’The great dictator’’ movie that was made after wwll, which was charlie chaplin’s first movie where he actually speaks, was breathtaking, amazing work of art. the ending speech that amazed me and still amazes me everytime is the most beautiful example of pathos. So many separated families, friends and souls were fighting for their lives while dictators were sitting and putting military signs on the map. Charlie chaplin puted all this pain hope and reality into this speech and gave us something that will last many centuries. ‘’We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness - not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there's room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.’’ Once again after this world war, countries fighting for land and losing lives, this sentence gives them idea about this world having enough space and goods for all of us. ‘’The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.’’no matter how strong any power is, power of people will never lose. ‘’Soldiers! Don't fight for slavery! Fight for liberty! In the seventeenth chapter of St Luke, it is written the kingdom of God is within man not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, the people, have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful - to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite.’’ Humanity, I think is the only thing that people should never stop trying to have. Everything around us WE made it, good or bad, WE are the ones who are creating new generations, we are the ones who are choosing what’s good for us, we are the ones creating medicines, we are the ones curing each other, we are the ones hating, loving, caring, sharing, inventing, listening, understanding and filling each other. If we ever realize how strong we are together, we can completely destroy or build this world. We need to stop hating and using our eyes instead of our hearts and minds, we need to see personality behind bodies. Let us unite and we’ll see how can bullet proof we are. This speech is the most inspiring thing i have ever seen and experienced, it keeps feeding me with thoughts and hope that these people can change, not theirselves but the way they treat one another.
The Power of Yes: political revolutions dont change anything, only an individual spiritual metamorphosis changes your consciousness, your silence, your being
