Collective farms- farms were collected by the governments and they were then given to the peasants
to let them farm. However, most of their profits went to government since the farms were owned
by the government.
There were few rich peasant (Kulaks) who refused to give up their lands and support collectivization.
They were then harshly punished by the police. So, what they did was to burn all their crops and
animals.
! Stakhanovite Movement- a miner achieving incredibly high production and was greatly rewarded
by the government. He was set as an example for the workers as their inspiration to work harder
for better rewards for their families.
! Informers and secret police-
The KGB (КГБ) is the common abbreviation for the (Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti or
Committee for State Security).
It was the national security agency of the Soviet Union from 1954 until 1991, and its premier internal
security, intelligence, and secret police organization during that time
Aims: To secretly cut down the rivals of Stalin in his economic goals and to control people with
powers and armed forces.
Results: secret police, or the KGB was one of the tools that Stalin used in his Maintain his power.
He used them to kill his rivals such as
AIMS: to let women also be involved in soviet’s development (more workers needed)
To let the role of women be noticed to public and for them to have equal rights
RESULT:
AIMS: to not only imprison the criminals such as politicians, Stalin’s rivals, and the Kulaks but to
use them in mining minerals since they were counted as criminals, they had no right to go or not
to go. They were just forced to go to gulags
