CORRECTIVE ACTION
A. Source of corrective action : Initiated by : Quality
Customer complaints/Audit observation/Self-assessment
for improvement/Complaints from external interested parties Date : 02.02.2018

B. Nature of complaints/non-conformance/problem
NPD problem too high in bigger dia pipes. 51.78% of total HUP MT got HUP for NPD; and, 5.20% of total HUP MT got
HUP TO REJ for NPD.

C. Investigation on cause of non-conformance/problem (to attach Root cause analysis)

Based on our long observation of this defect – NPD - in bigger dia pipes, it seems that mould powder which runs
down towards the socket portion in the inclined mould during the initial slow spinning of the mould is the reason
behind the problem. NPD occurs more frequently when we use excess mould powder to overcome problems like
hard extraction in “netting” moulds, drawn/lacy drawn defects.

D. Proposed corrective action with target dates and responsibility

Corrective action Plan Responsibility Target date

1. If possible, we should achieve a relatively faster pick-up of the full

spinning speed of the mould.
2. As a preventive measure, we should maintain moulds in good health
by proper preparation & use.

E. Effectiveness of corrective action
