Plate Tectonics
Plate Tectonics
1. What evidence do scientists have that large plates of land are moving?
- I think mountains growing and earthquakes are evidence but I'm not sure completely sure.
-(Now I learned Hotspots, Island moving, and Earthquakes are evidence of plates moving.
3. What are some ways that tectonic plates can interact with each other?
I know that plates can interact with each other by slamming into each other but I'm not sure about the
rest.
After my study I learned divergent, convergent, and constructive boundaries are evidence of plates
interacting with each other.
4. How can land forms provide evidence for scientists to determine plate boundaries?
-I know mountain ranges are evidence of plates hitting each other but I'm not sure about
the rest.
5. How does the theory of plate tectonics relate to mountains and volcanoes?
I think mountains are formed by plates hitting each other and volcanoes are plates pulling apart but I'm
not completely sure
-I learned when plates are pushing or pulling it makes mountains or volcanoes or the
make a subduction zone making a mountain and a trench.
