A screwdriver is a tool, manual or powered, for screwing and unscrewing (inserting and

removing) screws. A typical simple screwdriver has a handle and a shaft, ending in a tip the
user puts into the screw head before turning the handle. The shaft is usually made of tough
steel to resist bending or twisting.

A stubby screwdriver is a tool used to facilitate access to screws located in areas that cannot be reach
easily by a regular screwdriver. Sometimes, screw exist in places that are not wide open and may have
something blocking access to them from the opposite side. With a stubby screwdriver, it is possible to
reach screws that are obstructed in some way because they are shorter than most screwdrivers.

A screwdriver having a cross-shaped tip rather than the rectangular tip of a standard (flat-blade)
screwdriver. From Henry F. Phillips, the name of the inventor of the tool and the screws that it is
designed to work with, and screwdriver.

A tool consisting of a (typically double-headed) steel rod whose ends are bent at right angles to
face in opposite directions, used to turn screws where there is too little space for a conventional
screwdriver.
Slip joint pliers are pliers whose pivot point or fulcrum can be moved to increase the size
range of their jaws. Most slip joint pliers use a mechanism that allows sliding the pivot point
into one of several positions when the pliers are fully opened

Diagonal pliers (or wire cutters or diagonal cutting pliers or diagonal cutters or side cutting
pliers) arepliers intended for the cutting of wire (they are generally not used to grab or turn
anything).

Needle-nose pliers (also known as pointy-nose pliers, long-nose pliers, pinch-nose pliers or
snipe-nose pliers) are both cutting and holding pliers used by artisans, jewellery designers,
electricians, network engineers and other tradesmen to bend, re-position and snip wire.

A retaining ring is a fastener that holds components or assemblies onto a shaft or in a

housing/bore when installed in a groove. Once installed, the exposed portion acts as a shoulder
which retains the specific component or assembly. Circlips are a type of retaining ring.

A wire stripper is a small, hand-held device used to strip the electrical insulation from
electric wires.
An electric knife or electric carving knife is anelectrical kitchen device used for slicing foods.
An electric knife requires less physical effort than an ordinary knife and produces neater slices.
The device consists of two serrated blades that are clipped together.

A gauge for measuring the diameter of wire. The diameter of wire; any of a series of standard
sizes in which wire is made.

A gauge that measures small distances or thicknesses between its two faces, one of which can
be moved away from or toward the other by turning a screw with a fine thread.

A hammer with one side of the head split and curved, used for extracting nails.
A style of banjo playing in which the thumb and fingers strum or pluck the strings in a downward
motion.

A hammer with a rounded end opposite the face.

Heads are cylindrically shaped with two flat striking faces. Handles are usually wood or
fiberglass. Proper Uses. Soft face hammers are intended for striking blows where
steel hammers would mar or damage the surface of the work. ... Rubber and
plastic hammers are used for setting stone.

ADJUSTABLE WRENCHES

Locking pliers, mole grips (mole wrench) or vise-grips are pliers that can be locked into
position, using an over-center action.
The pipe wrench (US), Stillson wrench or Stillsons (UK) is an adjustablewrench/spanner used
for turning soft iron pipes and fittings with a rounded surface. The design of the adjustable jaw
allows it to lock in the frame, such that any forward pressure on the handle tends to pull the jaws
tighter together.

a wrench with jaws having a fixed width of opening at one or both ends of the handle.

a ratchet tool with a series of detachable sockets for tightening and loosening nuts of different
sizes.

a cylindrical wrench with a hexagonal end fitting over the head of

a nut, used especially when the nut is difficult to reach.

an L-shaped metal bar with a hexagonal head at each end, used to turn bolts and screws
having hexagonal sockets.
one who uses secret or underhanded means to influence the acts of a person or organization.

a tool with a conical point for making an indentation in an object, to allow a drill to make a hole
at the same spot without slipping.

saw with a narrow fine-toothed blade set in a frame, used especially for cutting metal.

Masonry drill bits. The masonry bit shown here is a variation of the twist drill bit. ... A star drill
bit, similar in appearance and function to a hole punch or chisel, is used as
a hand powered drill in conjunction with a hammer to drill into stone and masonry.

An auger is a drilling device, or drill bit, that usually includes a rotating helical screw blade
called a "flighting" to act as a screw conveyor to remove the drilled out material.
a small T-shaped tool with a screw-tip for boring holes

a saw with a long, narrow blade for cutting small holes such as keyholes

steel rock drill with a star-shaped point that is used for making holes in stones or masonry; it is
operated by hitting the end with a hammer while rotating it between blows. Type of: bore bit,
borer, rock drill, stone drill. a drill for penetrating rock.

A star drill bit, similar in appearance and function to a hole punch or chisel, is used as a hand
powered drillin conjunction with a hammer to drill into stone andmasonry. A star drill bit's
cutting edge consists of several blades joined at the center to form a star pattern.

A C-clamp or G-clamp is a type of clamp device typically used to hold a wood or metal
workpiece, and often used in, but are not limited to, carpentry and welding.
Flare fittings are a type of compression fitting used with metal tubing, usually soft steel, ductile
(soft) copper and aluminum, though other materials are also used. Tubeflaring is considered to
be a type of forging operation, and is usually a cold working procedure.

Definition of pipe cutter. : a tool or machine for cutting pipe; specifically : a hand tool
comprising a grasping device and three sharp-edged wheels forced inward by screw pressure
that cut into the pipe as the tool is rotated.

any of various rotary tools, with helical or straight flutes, for finishing or enlarging holes drilled in
metal. 2. any bladelike pick or rod used for scraping, shaping, or enlarging a hole: a pipe
reamer.

A soldering gun is an approximately pistol-shaped, electrically powered tool
for soldering metals using tin-based solder to achieve a strong mechanical bond with
good electrical contact. The tool has a trigger-style switch so it can be easily operated with one
hand.

meter for measuring electric power in watts.

A frequency meter is an instrument that displays thefrequency of a periodic electrical signal.

Various types offrequency meters are used. Many are instruments of the deflection type,
ordinarily used for measuring low frequenciesbut capable of being used for frequencies as
high as 900 Hz.
an instrument for detecting and measuring small electric currents.
