LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 1

I. Objectives:
At the end of one hour discussion, 75% of grade 1 pupils are expected to:
a. Identify the minuend, subtrahend, and difference
b. Subtract the following objects and numbers; and
c. Show cooperation through group activity

II. Subject Matter:


Topic : Subtracting 1 – digit number with minuend through 10

How many apples are left? 3 apples left.

Very good!

3 . Discussion:

These are the 6 apples of Anna. And she gave 3 apples


to her sister.

Minuend - is the first number or the number from which


another number is subtracted.

Subtrahend – the second number or the number to be subtracted

Difference – is the resulting number

4 . Developmental Activities

Now, group yourselves into three. I am going to give each group a plastic bag
with 9 candies inside. One of you will be holding the plastic bag.
Then, each one of you will take and eat 2 pcs. of candies.
How many candies are left? 3 candies Ma’am
Nice job!

Now, eat 1 candy each one of you. How many cadies are left? 0 Ma’am
Excellent!

5 . Generalization

How will you going to get the remaining or difference of the
2 numbers? - by subtracting the minuend
and subtrahend

Remember that when we take away something we will use the
Subtraction ( - ).

V. Assignment :

Si Karen adunay walo ka hiwa nga puto. Iya gi hatagan og


duha ka hiwa ang iya amiga og iya sad gi hatagan og 2 ka hiwa
ang iya igsuon. Pila naman lang ka hiwa ang nahabilin ni Karen?
