Stonewall, Texas

Stonewall is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in


Gillespie County, Texas, United States. The population was 525 at the 2010 census.[3] It
was named for Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson, by Israel P. Nunez, who established a stage
station near the site in 1870.

Stonewall is the birthplace and deathplace of


former U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson, and
Stonewall, Texas
his "LBJ Ranch" (much of which is now the Census-designated place
Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park) is
located nearby.

average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.07.

In the CDP, the population was spread out with 28.1% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to
24, 22.6% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 19.2% who were 65 years of age or
older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 103.0 males. For
every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $36,210, and the median income for a
family was $37,721. Males had a median income of $29,531 versus $30,083 for females.

of those age 65 or over.
