Narrative Structures:

Closed Narrative: This is found in movies


and TV Series which are structured to have
a beginning, middle and end so that the
audience can get an understanding of the
story. An example of this could be
anything e.g. 10 things I hate about you.

Open Narrative: These are usually


made in TV shows like soaps, which
have no ending so it can keep having
cliff-hangers this also applies to film
sequels. An example includes Star
Wars.

Multi-Strand Narrative: This is a


narrative with more than 1 story in the
film or TV show for example in the film
Love Actually there are more than 3
different story lines due to the amount
of actors in it.

Point of View (POV) Narrative: This is


the view point of a character in a film or
TV show where they narrate the story. For
example in Forrest Gump Tom Hanks
narrates his characters story.
