Numbers and Operations Rational Numbers Integers
By the end of the lesson, students can :
i) Recognise positive and negative numbers based on real-life situations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES ii) Recognise and describe integers.
iii) Represent integers on a number lines
iv)Compare and arrange integers in order.
i. Teacher introduces positive/negative numbers based on real-life situations
(e.g: temperature, sea levels and floors of building)
ii. Students try to recognize that positive and negative signs represent opposite values and/or
ACTIVITIES directions.
ii. Teacher introduces the number line and represents integers to students on number lines.
iii. Students complete the exercise involving compare and arrange integers in order.
iv) Discussion.
