➢ Abstract:
As a human being, it's not possible to remember all things. And, in this digital world, we secure
things with the Password. The password is used to protect important data and information saved
on computer. But, if you have forgotten your Windows Password, then, your all-important data
will get locked. I change the password every week for security purpose. And, last week I forgot
my Windows 10 password. There are some important data in my computer, so reinstalling
Windows wasn't the solution. Is there any way to get the password removed?

Yes, we can remove or change passwords through the Command Prompt in easy way without
using any pre-defined software. Write some special code like give commands to crack
password to save your data. So, you don’t need to worry about your password. You can easily
work on it without any software.

➢ Tools to be used:
We are not use any software to crack password, we use command prompt to crack and
change window password, we could be used for special softwares like Linux, kali-Linux.

➢ Objectives:
In cryptanalysis and computer security, password cracking is the process of recovering
passwords from data that have been stored in or transmitted by a computer system. A common
approach (brute-force attack) is to try guesses repeatedly for the password and check them
against an available cryptographic hash of the password.

The purpose of password cracking might be to help a user recover a forgotten password
(installing an entirely new password is less of a security risk, but it involves System
Administration privileges), to gain unauthorized access to a system, or as a preventive measure
by system administrators to check for easily crack able passwords. On a file-by-file basis,
password cracking is utilized to gain access to digital evidence for which a judge has allowed
access but the particular file's access is restricted.

➢ Methodology:

➢ First of all, insert bootable usb in computer or window dix. Then restart your computer,
press F9 on HP system (F12 for Dell) after Escape button. The window interface will be

show there.
➢ Press Shift+F10 key to open command prompt. Then give following commands step by
step and press Enter button after each command:

▪ diskpart (Press enter after each line)

▪ list volume
▪ cd C //window drive like C or E
▪ exit
▪ cls
▪ C:
▪ cd windows

▪ copy utilman.exe utilman1.exe
▪ copy cmd.exe cmd1.exe
▪ del utilman.exe
▪ rename cmd.exe utilman.exe
▪ Close all tabs then restart your PC.

▪ Click on clock icon and then give another command:

▪ control userpasswords2

▪ reset password through option and use your new password.

➢ Conclusion:

That concludes our introduction to hashing and passwords. We have covered the history of
password storage, why password hashing is used, what rainbow tables are and how salted
passwords defeat a Rainbow Tables attack. We have also discussed how password cracking is
done and how hardware like GPUs ASICs and FPGAs can accelerate cracking. We also gave
you a brief introduction to algorithms that make it more difficult to crack passwords and a
performance architecture that allows the use of a strong hashing algorithm without
overloading servers.
