    Honorians bag accolades in Thailand Skills


    Competition
    DHVSU students once again proved their prowess after achieving individual awards in
    the Professional Skills Competition and Fundamental Skills Competition hosted by the
    Office of Vocational Education Commission in Surit Thani, Thailand held this February
    5.

    In the solo singing category, STEM student Jay Emmanuel Macatuno was hailed
    champion while BSEd English Major Rose Ann Garung of DHVSU Porac Campus was
    named as 2nd runner up out of 21 competitors from Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, China,
    Thailand, and Philippines. They were mentored by their coach, Mr. Marcial Bonnie
    Salac.

    Other Honorian delegates were also bestowed different awards on other categories.
    Trisha Anne Mandap, coached by Ms. Grace Mendoza, notched 6th place among 21
    competitors in the public speaking category.

    In the Network Technology Skill Competition, Jovito Gerald Calimoso and Justin Asher
    Yalung together with their coach Nikko Puno Nicdao were named 2nd runner up.

    The event involves southeast Asians in competitions of different skills and talents
    including, but
    not limited to, singing, public speaking, and computer /information technology.
