SUBJECT: Narrative Report on the Project:Act, Know, and Survive through

Youth Orientation in Natural Disasters and Risks (AKSYON)

Day 2: Earthquake: What to do Before, During and After

In connection with the purpose of the community service which is to give

awareness about Natural Disasters and Risks for this week the community

service of the Team AKSYON focused about Earthquake: What to do Before,

During and After. Unlike the other week which they conducted the activity at the

gymnasium, for this week they’ve coordinated with the principal of Wawa

Elementary School to be able to use one of their classroom. Also, the proponents

invited the SPG and Yes-O officers of the school to be the participants and luckily

they granted the request.

The activity was conducted on March 16, 2019, it started at 8:00 am with a

prayer led by the leader, followed by the energizer which is led by the creative

team and by the NSTP Instructor to boost the energy and the participation of the

students. After the energizer is the clip viewing, where they played video clips

containing the situations during an earthquake. The students were actively

watching the clip and afterwards the creative team asked their opinion about the

clip and they’ve shared their different perception about earthquake. The creative

team discussed and demonstrated the things that they should do before, during

and after the earthquake and students actively participated throughout the
discussion. After the discussion, of course it’s time to have fun, the creative team

prepared games that is called Paper dance with a twist and the participants

enjoyed the game. After the activity the participants about what they have

realized and is connected to the topic.

To summarize, the discussion went well through the use of the video clip

and active participation of the beneficiaries. And lastly for this activity, Team

AKSYON gave some snacks to the participants and they really enjoyed

participating and eating.

For this day the group was able to give the students information about

earthquake which they can share to their families and friends that can really help

them in time of calamities.
