2 Green Hakws eye top podium finish

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur- Two Cagayan Valley Hawks are now vying for a podium
finish after securing slots in the top 4 in wrestling at St. John Paul II College of Davao,
May 2.

Lester Abrina got a semis slot for 66kg Junior Division Male after pinning down his foe
1:04 in the first round.

Kristelle Jane Figuracion, on the other hand, won in a close 6-6 match against Region 5
for the 56kg Junior Division Female.

"Isang panalo lang, pwedeng panggold na sila, alam kong kaya nila 'yan," pointed out
Region 2 coach Odylon Gonzaga.

Abrina felt ecstatic after toppling down his enemy earlier than expected.

Figuracion will face CARAGA's veteran wrestler who earned silver in 2017 and gold in
2018 palaro.

"Mukhang mahirap po ang laban kase malakas ang kalaban pero kakayanin po, laban
pa rin," told Figuracion in an interview.

Will they be able to give gold for the hawkers? Abrina and Figuracion shall set foot on
the wrestling mat on May 3 for their top podium bids.
