Chapter IV

ANALYSIS, PRESENTATION, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter presents the scholastic performance in Mathematics, English and

Science of the Grade 9 and Grade 10 STAR students of General Santos City National

High School.

Table 1 shows that Grade 9 and Grade 10 students were outstanding in

Mathematics. 53% of the students are Outstanding. Therefore, most students have

passed and complied the tests and requirements required in the K to 12 Grading

System. While the remaining 38% and 9% range from Satisfactory to Very Satisfactory

results, which indicates that Grade 9 and Grade 10 STAR students excel in

Mathematics.

Table 2 shows that 55% of the students are outstanding in Science. Therefore, it

implicates that the students can understand and excel in Science. While the remaining

17% and 28% range from Satisfactory to Very Satisfactory results, which implies that

Grade 9 and Grade 10 STAR students excel in Science.

Table 3 shows that 63% of the students are Very Satisfactory. Therefore, it

implicates that they have lower Scholastic Performance in English compared to

Mathematics and Science. 10% of them are Satisfactory.

Figure 3.1 shows that the 9% of the Respondents did not make the cut – off

grade of 85% in Mathematics while 17% and 10% in Science and English respectively.

Figure 3.2 shows that the highest number of students whose Grades are 90 %

and above are in Science with 55 %, to be followed by Mathematics with 53 % and 27

% in English Respectively, which shows that STAR Students excel more in Science and

Mathematics than in English.
