FAQs

Q. Is it compulsory to take Literature (English)?

A. No, it is not mandatory to take the subject. However, in case your child wants to do IB at high
school, then it is advisable that English Literature is taken. As in the IBDP ‘English Lang and Literature’
is a single subject and is Compulsory.
At the AS and A Levels , English is offered as 3 subjects - ‘English Language’, ‘Language and Literature
in English’, ‘Literature in English’, therefore even if your ward has not taken Literature, he / she can
choose accordingly.
You are welcome to discuss this with us should you have any doubts.

Q. Can students select less than 7 subjects?

A. Under special circumstance this will be considered, else it is compulsory for students to have 7
subjects. In special cases and after consideration by the senior academic team, the number of subjects
for a child can be decided.

Q. Will the students be allowed to drop subjects in Grade 10?

A. No. The students will continue with the same subject combination for Grades 9 and 10 and take the
examination for all

Q. Can a student study a second language other than what is being mentioned?
A. Yes. But they have to be taken under ‘Self Taught’ category. For example, German, Tamil (O-Level),
Chinese, etc.
