Science and Kalikasan Club Exhibit

Imus Institute of Science and Technology (IIST), formerly known as Imus Institute (II)
celebrates their annual founding anniversary every January. This year marks the 96th year of the
school Imus Institute. Due to this annual occasion, it has been a tradition of various
organizations, clubs, and departments to prepare an exhibit to showcase their student’s works for
the 3-day event.
IIST held Imus Institute’s 96th Founding Anniversary from January 23-25,2019 at IIST
Dimasalang Campus, City of Imus, Cavite. Before the said 3-day event, Science and Kalikasan
Club conducted meetings to plan for the event. Science Club officers discussed the structure and
design of the exhibit. The Science Club Officers decided that this year’s exhibit’s theme is about
“The Human Body”.
The Science Club officers started creating the exhibit on January 21, 2019. The room
assigned for Science Club’s exhibit was E-305. The officers gathered platforms, tables, and other
materials for their exhibit. The officers also gathered cloths, tarpaulins, diagrams, microscopes,
and laboratory apparatuses. After the officers gathered materials, a meeting was formed to
finalize the design of the exhibit.
The next day, January 22, 2019, The officers started constructing their plan for the
exhibit. They turned the platforms as dividers and ramps. The officers laid red cloth on one of
the platforms to give it a tongue-like appearance. The officers then placed black cloth on the
sides and above the red ramp. After that, they cut a red cloth and placed it at the end of the tunnel
to give a tonsil-like look.
After the tunnel was made, the officers put blue cartolina on one side of the room and
painted fishes and sea weeds. Beside the “Aquarium Wall” is a large model of the human heart.
The officers reused this model found on the Biology Laboratory. They repainted it and put lights
on the outlines. At the center of the exhibit are tables; One table contains laboratory apparatuses,
one table with figures of cellular division and also another table containing flash cards about the
human body and animal skeletons. The walls were covered with tarpaulins about different organ
systems in the body. At the exit, the officers placed figures that show how a fetus develop inside
a woman’s womb. The club officers, with the help of Science Club advisers, they finished the
exhibit in the evening after the advisers extended their stay at the school.
 The first day of the celebration of II’s 96th founding anniversary came, January 23, 2019.
The officers picked up the trashes, cleaned the room, and gave their last touches on the exhibit.
After the mass, the officers prepared for the arrival of the administrators. Keifer Iestyn P. Salle,
Vice-President of the Science and Kalikasan Club, became the tour guide for the administrators
when they visited the exhibits. He also toured the student-visitors from other schools around the
club’s exhibit.
Students visited the exhibit and signed their daily attendance on the exhibit until January
25, 2019. The advisers and the officers cleaned the exhibit and put back every materials used at
the Chemistry and Biology Laboratory. The room was cleaned and the seats were brought back
inside the classroom.
The exhibit was finished at 12 NN, January 25, 2019.
