Blood Red

 OPENING
 
FADE IN:
 
 
EXT. URBAN BACK ALLY-DAWN
 
A hooded figure crouching down at a door, picking the lock
of a back door. The figure looks over their shoulder-
revealing a girl- to check for anyone watching.
 
NEWS PRESENTER
.....another officer found dead
this morning. Detective Jack Mason
was found in his home deceased by
another officer.
 
 
INT. DARK OFFICE LOOKING ROOM
 
A man dressed in black is sitting at a desk, back facing.
He is fidgeting with a police badge, both it and his hand
are stained red. His other hand sorting through paper work,
showing the profiles of two police detectives. He looks at
them, crossing a line through the picture belonging to Jack
Mason, smirking.
 
NEWS PRESENTER
Sources have confirmed this murder
was the work of 'The Wolf', the
serial killer who has been
targeting police officers and
lawyers since his first appearance
4 months ago.
 
 
INT. POLICE STATION
 
A man dressed in a scruffy shirt with a lose tie is holding
a picture at his desk. The picture shows him and Jack Mason
together in casual cloths both smiling.
 
NEWS PRESENTER
Mason's partner, Detective Ian
Hunter, had this to say:
 
HUNTER
Me and my partner have been
working this case since Wolf made
his presence known, and I'm going
to continue working it on his
behalf. Jack vowed that he would
bring Wolf in, I'm going  to
ensure sure the work he did on
this case will do just that

EXT. URBAN BACK ALLY-
 
The girl finishes picking the lock. A click can be heard as
the door unlocks. She opens the door and quickly entering
 
 
INT. DARK ROOM
 
The man shifts the paper of Jack Mason revealing  one of
Hunter. He then circle's the picture.
 
 
 
INT. POLICE STATION
 
The man places down the picture, before opening a case
file, showing a profile. the man in the photo looks at the
camera calmly. His real name is not known, only an alias:
The Wolf
 
 
 
SCENE 1
 
HARD CUT FROM
TITLE:
 
 
 
INT: COMMISSIONERS OFFICE-DAY
 
The Commissioner is sitting at his desk, shuffling through
papers
 
COMMISSIONER
There was nothing? Not even a
shred of DNA?
 
Ian Hunter, dressed in an un-tucked shirt, lose fitting tie
with jeans and sneakers is leaning up against the wall
 
HUNTER
CSI turned over every inch of the
place. Nothing was out of the
ordinary. Autopsy wasn't much help
either. No finger prints or
foreign DNA
 
Hunter looks away for a second before continuing

HUNTER (CONT'D)
He's always been through with
clean up before, but he'd leave
clue's and hints. He'd make a game
out of it. He's led everyone who's
gone after him on, and they'd play
right into his hands. I didn't
think it would happen to
Jack......
 
The Commissioner closes the file and looks at Hunter
 
COMMISSIONER
So what are planning on next?
 
Hunter walks over to the desk and sits opposite
 
HUNTER
I want to re-examine Jack's place.
On the off chance CSI missed
anything, I'll find it.
 
COMMISSIONER
You knew Detective Mason best.
Maybe you can turn something up.
 
HUNTER
I also want to follow up another
hunch Jack was working.
 
 
Hunter picks up a file on the desk and opens a page. He
then shows the notes to the Commissioner.
 
 
COMMISSIONER
"The only way Wolf could be one
step of us was if he had a time
machine??? Seriously there's no
way he can overcome the combined
brain power of Jack Mason and Ian
Hunter......"
 
The Commissioner looks at Hunter in disbelief. Hunter is
looking back sheepishly.
 
HUNTER
Uhhhhh....We were brainstorming.
We uhh may have a drink. Or two.
Or 4...

The Commissioner simply looks at him. Hunter snatches the
file back
 
HUNTER (CONT'D)
Ok we started doing shots and got
carried away!
 
 
The Commissioner sighs
 
HUNTER (CONT'D)
Anyway, the note I was referring
to was he's been getting
information from the database.
 
COMMISSIONER
Implying he has direct access or
there's a potential leak
 
The Commissioner closes the file
 
COMMISSIONER (CONT'D)
I'll have someone follow this up
 
Hunter appears confused
 
HUNTER
Don't you want me on this?
 
The Commissioner gathers the files then stands up
 
COMMISSIONER
I want you to and talk to 'her'
 
Hunter looks at him knowingly, looking somewhat nervous
 
 
SCENE TWO
 
NEWS PRESENTER
Our top story tonight: The master
thief known as the Red Hood is
currently in police custody.
Sources have confirmed that she
willing turned herself in,
claiming they have information
regarding The Wolf. With the
murder of Jack Mason 6 days
earlier, it seems very likely this
could be a coincidence. We are
still awaiting any new information

INT: POLICE STATION-DAY
 
Hunter is walking down the corridor, papers in hand. He
comes to door of the interrogation room. He opens the door,
entering the darkly lit room. In the centre of the room is
a table, where a girl is sat, handcuffed. She is looking at
Hunter with a calm, intense stare, tracking his movement as
he walks to the table. Hunter sits opposite the girl,
placing the papers he was holding on the desk.
 
 
INT: INTERROGATION ROOM-DAY
 
HUNTER
Over 25 confirmed break-ins. 7 of
them cold cases. They say you've
shaken off everyone who ever went
after you. And you never found a
lock you couldn't bust. To say
you've been careful would be an
understatement, so you can imagine
our confusion when you suddenly
turn yourself in.
 
The girl continues looking at him with a neutral
expression. Hunter then leans in closer
 
HUNTER (CONT'D)
Personally, I don't care why you
turned yourself in. But, if you
have information regarding him, I
want you to tell me everything
 
The girl again continues looking blankly. Hunter begins to
grow agitated
 
HUNTER (CONT'D)
Listen. If you know something
about where he's hiding or who he
might be, that information could
save lives. We could find out who
his next target could be and......
 
Hunter then trails off as he realises the girl isn't rally
reacting to anything he's said. He then snaps his fingers
in her face.
 
HUNTER (CONT'D)
Hey! Are you listening?
 
The girl then suddenly jumps, like she's snapped out of a
trance.

GIRL
Huh?!
 
HUNTER
Did you hear a word of what i just
said?
 
GIRL
Hmm? Oh! Sorry, I was spacing out.
I think you said somthin'
about...me being very careful?
 
She responds in a energetically sheepish way
 
GIRL (CONT'D)
Would you mind starting over?
Actually, what have you got the
eat? I skipped breakfast and could
really go for some cookies right
now
 
The girl talks fast, and the way she spoke had a very
bubbly energy. Hunter looks taken aback
 
HUNTER
Excuse me?
 
GIRL
Breakfast is important. If you
miss it, then you get all cranky.
Wait. No. That might just be me.
 
The girls attention span seem very short as she is changing
what she's talking about very quickly.
 
HUNTER
OK, on a slightly unrelated note,
how old are you?
 
The girl looks at the the ceiling counting on her fingers
 
GIRL
15. And a half. Maybe more
 
Again, Hunter looks in disbelief
 
GIRL (CONT'D)
Oh yeah. Forgot to introduce
myself. I'm Ruby, Ruby Rose. Nice
to meet...
 
As she's speaking, Ruby darts her right hand forward to
offer a handshake, forgetting that it was handcuffed to the
desk, causing the cuff to catch sharply on her wrist

RUBY
Owwww, ow ow ow ow.
 
Ruby rubs her wrist
 
RUBY (CONT'D)
Right. Hand cuffs. Forget. I would
have used my other hand, but what
kind of monster shakes withe their
left hand, right?
(she giggles)
 
 
Hunter is looking at her in utter shock
 
HUNTER
You. You're the Red Hood.
 
RUBY
Oh man, i forgot about that. News
headlines gave me that name. Makes
me sound more like super villain
or something.
(she giggles) But yeah, my friends
just call me Red
 
HUNTER
(to himself)
The most skilled thief in all of
Carlisle. Is a 15 year old air
head with a sweet tooth for
cookies.
 
Hunter then remembers why he came in hear to begin with
 
HUNTER (CONT'D)
So, you came in here with
information regarding the Wolf
