This is a small assignment that I have given to my Science 9
students. They are asked to create an analogy of each organelle listed. They are also asked to analyze a partners analogy. THE AFTER
I created a rubric so that students know exactly what the
expectations are for them. Even though this is a mini assignment, I felt like the “before” wasn’t very clear as to how this was going to be assessed. I also put the example and the vocabulary into a graphic organizer so that students can use the example as a reference when doing their own analogies. THE AFTER
The vocabulary are set in graphic organizers on a separate
piece of paper from the rubric and the example. That way the students don't have to flip from one page to another making it more accessible. The other vocabulary words are on another graphic organizer just as this. I didn't include it.
