San Antonio, Texas 78221 Dear Mr. Eads, Members of the Board of Managers, and Members of the Board of Trustees: ‘The purpose of this correspondence is to provide notification to the Southside Independent School District's (ISD or district) appointed board of managers and elected board of trustees that the appointment of the board of managers will expire on May 18, 2022. Pursuant to the authority in Texas Education Code (TEC) §39A.208(b), following each of the last three years of the period of appointment, one-third of the members of the board of managers shall be replaced by the number of members of the board of trustees of the district who were elected al an election ordered by the board of managers that constitutes, as closely as possible, one-third of the membership of the board of trustees. Accordingly, the initiation of the transition to retum governance of the district to the elected board of trustees will occur no later than May 18, 2020. At that point, | will expand the board of managers to seven members, as authorized by 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §97.1073(g)(6), and will designate two members of the elected board of trustees to join the five appointed members of the board of managers in governing the district.
