I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of: South and West Asian literature
as an expression of philosophical and religious beliefs; information flow in various
text types; reality, fantasy, and opinion in listening and viewing materials; word
decoding strategies; and use of information sources, active/passive constructions,
direct/reported speech, perfect tenses, and logical connectors in journalistic writing.
B. Performance Standard
The learner transfers learning by composing a variety of journalistic texts, the
contents of which may be used in composing and delivering a memorized oral
speech featuring use of properly acknowledged information sources, grammatical
signals for opinion-making, persuasion, and emphasis, and appropriate prosodic
features, stance and behavior.

D. Objectives
The students will be able to:
1. know the simple tenses of the verbs and their usage,
2. appreciate the importance of tenses in our lives, and
3. construct meaningful sentences using the simple tenses of the verb.

1. Motivation
Sentence Charades
The students will be grouped into four. Each group will have one
representative per number. The representative will pick a sentence and then act it
out. Within 30 seconds, his group mates will try to guess the phrase. If they cannot
answer it, the other groups can steal and answer.

How will you prepare yourself for the future?

What have you learned in our lesson today?
IV. EVALUATION
Use Me
The teacher will give a verb and the students will construct a sentence using its past
and future tense. This will be written in a one half sheet of paper.
V. ASSIGNMENT
The students will make an essay about how they see their selves in the future, 10
years from now. Do not forget to use the proper verb tenses. This will be written in a
one whole sheet of paper.
