ABSTRACT
Geopolymer Concrete is the important construction material used in
construction industry for eco-friendly nature and higher durability properties.
Agro industrial waste are full replacement of cement of concrete with zero
percentage of water content. Durability characteristics like chloride attack,
sulphate attack and water permeability to be examined. The present usage of agro
industrial waste for construction is resulting in the reduction of dumping wastages
in ecological areas which cause great impact on the environment. The work is to
focus on the durability characteristics of concrete using alternative materials like
'high calcium fly ash & rice husk ash' obtained from industrial and agricultural
processing units. High calcium based fly ash geopolymer concrete has shown
good performance (durability) characteristics apart from the strength
characteristics as observed during literature. GPC has the ability to provide high
performance durable concrete without reducing much of its strength and also acts
as a reservoir for water that ensures reduced shrinkage. Hence, a huge amount of
replacement of agro industrial waste and alkali activated solutions for binder
materials of concrete and an superplastisizer NAPHTHALENE-FORMALDEHYDE
SULPHONATE (SNF) has been used at various proportions in order to
supplementary material for workability properties. Examination of Durability
Properties and characteristics after observation of water absorption and chemical
attack tests carried out.
