Course Introduction
This course is about the study of different mechanisms and their applications based on principles of Kinematics and Dynamics of
machinery. Course covers Linkage Mechanisms, Power Transmission Mechanisms and Control and Precision Mechanisms which are
important aspects for undergraduates of Mechanical Engineering
Course Contents
Fundamentals of Machine Kinematics and Dynamics. Simple mechanism, Linkages: synthesis and analysis, position,
velocity and acceleration analysis, governors, gyroscope, geometry of gears, gear trains, flywheels, cam and follower
design and dynamics, steering gears, balancing of linkages and rotating bodies.
