KATHYDRAL CROONERS CHOIR

Kathydral Crooners Choir is based in Nairobi, the Capital City of the Republic of Kenya an
East African Nation. Kenya is a country rich in wildlife, culture, history, beauty and friendly
welcoming people. Game Safaris and wild life tours are Kenya’s biggest attractions.

Kathydral Crooners Choir is a non-professional choir currently comprising of 35 members. It’s

one of the Choirs at the St. Stephens Cathedral Church that ministers in the 7.00 am O’clock
Service.

Background

Among the founding members is the late Mr. Christopher Sikuku (HSC)took over from the late
Hon. Darius M. Mbela.

The main St. Stephens Choir was founded by the late Graham Hyslop and the late Prof Senoka
Zake. Mr Sikuku is remembered…….and notably national dirges during the 30 days of mourning
folloeing the death of…. On 22 August 1978.

Apart from relying on individual resources to fund choir programs, the choir at times receives support
from the the St. stephens Cathedral……., Matron Mrs. Beatrice Mbela, friends and well-wishers.

An ambitious touring schedule

Kathydral Crooners Choir endeavors to tour locally and abroad to participate in international choir
competitions and concerts. However, this depends on available of resources.

A demanding seasonal programme

Karhydral…. has a core program each year. Corporate events, records and other engagements often
increase the number of programs in a season

Performance

Performances are mandatory. But to qualify to sing a member has to at least attend two thirds of the
rehearsals
Membership

Membership is open to adults (preferably baptized) of sound mind and subject to approval by the
committee.

Anyone interested in joining the choir is invited to attend a rehearsal or two as a guest before having a
voice test to determine the convenient voice line to sing in the choir
