rates.
The decision was taken at
a  meeting pertaining  to for-
eign currency rates  in the
country, the sources said. The
meeting, presided over by PM
Khan,  also had a  delegation
of E-Commerce Association
of Pakistan (ECAP) in pres-
ence.
They said the forum de-
cided that companies deviat-
ing  from  set  currency  rates
would not be given any con-
cession.

AJK Cabinet decides to make recruitment of

MIRPUR  (AJK):  (APP): Azad  Jammu  &  Kashmir cabinet
Wednesday accorded approval of  new law for recruitment in
the departments transferred from AJK Council to the govern-
ment of Azad Jammu and Kashmir under the 13th AJK consti-
tutional amendment that led transfer of powers to the State.
The AJK cabinet  met Wednesday with AJK Prime Minis-
ter Raja Farooq haider Khan was in the chair.
The cabinet decided that henceforth appointments in the
government departments in B-16 and above would be made
through the Azad Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission
(AJK  PSC).  There  are  hundreds  of vacant  posts  in  various
departments of the State transferred from AJK Council to AJK
government in the wake of the 13th constitutional amendment,
it observed.
The cabinet  also accorded  approval of a comprehensive
law  at  the  pattern  of  Punjab  and  KPK  provinces  for AJK-
based public-sector  Universities.  According to  the new  law
President of AJK State, who also holds the office of the Chan-
cellor of  public-sector  Universities  in AJK, would  also be
consulted for important decisions.

The  meeting  also  decided  that  development  authorities
would not be involved in any matter of adjustment of the plots
other than the state schemes approved through master plan.
In order to  give the state-controlled  Bank of Azad Jammu
Kashmir the status of a scheduled bank, the cabinet decided
that the appointment of President of the bank of AJK has been
mandated through “Fit proper test criteria” in the light of di-
rections of  the State Bank of Pakistan.
The cabinet also accorded approval for reaching to an agree-
ment with “Walled City Lahore” to restore the original form of
ancient Muzaffarabad Fort.  Rs. 70 million Muzaffarabad Fort
development project has already been approved by the AJK
Government, the meeting was informed.
The AJK cabinet  also decided not to cut grant in aid of
development authorities including Muzaffarabad Development
Authority and  Mirpur Development Authority since  they

Flash floods cause over PCSIR failed to showcase

38.223 billion direct loss due
to flash flood since 1950 while
2010 super flood caused alone
$ 10 billion loss.

to the road users by stopping
them at police pickets erected
along with Operational Police,
and this  practice  is  causing
huge traffic jams during peak

ITP  has  found  the  easi-
est  way  to  issue  fine  tickets
to  the motorists  by  stopping
them at police pickets set up
along with Operational Police,

serious problems for the road
users  during peak  hours  and
leading towards uncalled traf-
fic jams. A number of motor-
ists shared their  experiences
and observations over this un-

hearing of a case pertaining to
murder  of  Barrister  Fahad
Malik  was  adjourned  by  an
Anti  Terrorism  Court  (ATC)
in Islamabad without any pro-
ceedings due to transfer of the
ATC-I  judge  Kausar Abbas
Zaidi.
The  hearing  of  the  case
was adjourned till May 29. It
is  worth mentioning  that  the
mother  of Fahad  Malik, had
filed  a  petition  in  Islamabad
High Court (IHC) challenging
the post arrest bail granted by
the ATC to a main accused Raja
Arshad against which the IHC
had issued stay order against
the ATC decision.
This case  proceedings
are in final stages as the evi-
dences has already been con-
cluded and decision of the case
is in pending due to final state-
ment of the accused about the
allegations  leveled against
them.
During the previo us
hearing, the court had directed
to record the statements of all
accused under section 342 of
Cr PC on the day which was
not  recorded  due  to  transfer

ISLAMABAD  (APP):  The
Indus  River System  Author-
ity (IRSA)  Wednesday re-
leased  202,800  cusecs  water
from various rim stations with
inflow of 176,900 cusecs.
According to the data re-
leased by IRSA, water level in
the  Indus  River  at  Tarbela
Dam was 1406.68 feet, which
was 20.68 feet higher than its
dead level of 1,386 feet.
Water inflow in the dam
was recorded as 48,600 cusecs
while  outflo w  as 50,000
cusecs.

eral Board of Revenue (FBR)
has resolved about 6000 com-
plaints out of 6864 which were
launched on the Pakistan Citi-

partments of FBR.

remaining 864 complaints 650
