ZEISS License Activation Utility


Getting started...

For managing your licenses you always need the


Entitlement ID or the Activation ID(s).
To manage licenses on your CMM-workstation you
also need administrative permissions!

Where can I get the Entitlement ID or Activation ID(s)?

The ID(s) can be obtained by email or can be


found on your software certificate that came
with the software package.

Glossary

Entitlement ID Activating PC-bonded licenses


The Entitlement ID contains all of your software PC-bonded licenses are, as the name suggests,
options, i.e. it matches your entire software bond to a specific PC. Consequently, the ZEISS
order. In case of an existing Internet connection, software can be operated only on this PC.
you can use the Entitlement ID to display all of
your software options and activate all of them by Activating dongle licenses
request at once. This option must be selected, when dongles
are used. Dongle licenses can be imported on

Online-Activation
PC-bonded license

Step 1:

1. Activate a license

2. PC is connected
to the internet

3. Next

PC is connected to the internet via a proxy


Please enter your valid proxy server data.

Step 2:

1. Enter Entitlement ID

2. Click „Add“

You will find the Entitlement ID on your software certificate or in the e-mail “Entitlement Certificate”.
You can also enter single Activation ID(s) to activate single software options.

Here you will see your


available licenses.

1. Click „OK“

If there is anything else shown as


„Id Resolved Successfully“, you
have not entered a valid ID. After clicking „OK“, all licenses are activated on
your CMM workstation.

Because of the missing internet connection,


the tool can’t synchronize the licenses with
the server. In the license overview is shown
“Not Available”. 1. Click „OK“

By clicking „OK“ you will be prompted to save a „activation_request.xml“ file.

After successful saving this


window appears.

Send the file as an attachment to: license.metrology.de@zeiss.com


After a few minutes you will automatically receive a „response.xml“ file that you can import to
your CMM workstation.
After receiving the file, please read more on page 12 „Import the license file“.

Error messages
Possible errors

Message Solution Solution


Entitlement ID or Activation ID is Online mode: An invalid ID was entered.
shown with „Not Available“. Offline mode: This is no error. Because there is no internet
connection thus there is also no connection to the server.

Licenses have a dark grey PC-bonded: The license has been removed. To activate a license
background in the overview again, please read the detailed instruction manual for software
licensing.
Dongle license: The dongle isn’t plugged.
