OBJECTIVE
To prepare a standard solution of 1.0M sodium hydroxide and diluting the solution to
0.2M.
To dilute 1.0M of sulfuric acid stock solution to the final concentration of 0.1M

CONCENTRATION=
VolumeOfSolventInLiter
Molarity is also another measurements for concentration which refers to the numbers
of mole of solute in certain volume at solvent . Thus, the unit for molarity is mol/L .
The relationship between concentration and molarity is given by the following
equation :
Concentration g/L
MOLARITY= = = mol/L
MM g / mol
During the process of dilution the number of mole of solute before and after remain
the some. The molarity of diluled solution can be obtained bu using the following
formula :
M1V1 = M2V2

DISCUSSION:
Based on the experiment , we expected the mass of sodium hydroxide that we used in
the experiment is 4.0 g . The number of moles of 1.0 M of sodium hydroxide solution
is 0.1 Mol . The solution of 1.0 M sodium hydroxide is obtained by using 4.0 g Na Oh
and dissolve it in 0.1 dm3 of water . So, it become 1.0 M NaOH solution . The
number of moles that we get of 1.0 M SULPHURIC ACID is 0.01 mole and mass of
sulphuric acid 1.0 M Sodium Hydroxide to 0.2 M . The error that we might do in this
experiment is human error. The result might be better if we take attention on the
precaution steps before we starts the experiment.
