TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I have known Mr. Syed Mohammed Talib Ahmad since September 2012, having met
him in his second year in the Electrical Machines lab course where I supervised him.
Apart from subsequent lab supervisions, I also taught him subjects like Power
Systems – II and Computer Aided Power System Analysis. The latter being an elective
subject, I believe he had a definite interest in power systems and renewable energy.
Although he wasn’t the sharpest of the lot, his hard work and punctuality helped him
come up with the brighter students in the class.
Besides the academics, Talib was very keen on research work. His departmental paper
presentation in the EEE Society Mentorship Program 2013-14 on “Automatic solar
tracking system” was very impressive where he was the senior member of the group.
He was also awarded A+ and A grades in his final year projects in the last two
semesters. His excellent communication and presentation skills are evident from his
seminar presentations, which demonstrate his good command over English. He was
also one of the only two students in the batch who opted for an industrial project for a
more comprehensive practical exposure. His diligent and perseverant nature and his
well-balanced personality coupled with a strong foundation in the fundamental
subjects point to his immense potential in research and teaching.
Overall, Mr. Talib Ahmad is an exceptionally promising candidate for research and
advanced studies and I do not have any doubts that he will be highly successful in all
his endeavours and will be an asset to any institution he becomes a part of.
I strongly recommend him for admission with all possible financial assistance.
