Following are the upgrades found in Easydrill through its version history

V 49.1.3
Previously: In order that Plans work properly with the anticollision program they had to be interpolated. Therefore it
was necessary to enter plans as projections, then interpolate them before storing.
Now: The anticollision program checks a new plan to make sure it is interpolated, if not, then it interpolates and re-
stores it.
It is now possible to enter a plan as a series of surveys, then the anticollission program will check and interpolate as
necessary.
Of course you can still enter a plan as a projection as before.

Previously: To enter a new well or switch to a previously stored one, it was necessary to go to the Main Menu and
upon re-entering the Survey menu the program would ask for a new or existing well.
Now: (although the above is till valid) if you wish to switch to another well while in the Survey menu, just press [Left
Shift][A]

Previously: From the View (Survey stations) menu, if you wanted to see just the last few entries you had to enter the
depth from which you wished to start displaying.
Now: There is an option which will display just the last 6 surveys

Previously: From the View (Projections stations) menu if you wanted to delete the bottom interval you would press
[Del] and after deleting the program would go to the Projections Options Menu.
Now: (although the above is still valid) You can delete the bottom interval while View(ing) the projections stations.

Also, when any result screen is displayed, punch the [S] key (for Save) and that will save the current screen. Then
when anywhere else in the program, punch the [R] key (for Review) and the saved screen will be displayed. Press
any key to return to the program.

The GoBak function has been renamed GoTo and if it cannot find the survey to go to it creates an interpolated station
which can be the first station in a projection.

In the 3D projections program, the first option allows you to project to the path of another well. Now, once the
coordinates are found at the specified TVD, the program gives you the option to save those coordinates as a target,
this allows you to subsequently shift the coordinates of that target.

49.1.4:

Changing, deleting or inserting a survey no longer resets the survey pointer to the tie on. Switching calculation
methods still does.

Implemented projection to MD, where the inclination and walk rate are specified.

Implemented projection to TVD, where DLS and Tool face are specified

When saving a plan, where the program requests an interpolation interval, pressing the A menu key (NONE) causes
the plan to be saved without interpolation.

The interpolation scheme has been modified so that interpolation intervals will be equal. This means that if, for
example the initial survey is 2100, and you decide to interpolate by 28.3 meters (the length of stands), then a point
will be created every 28.3 meters even across the crossover from one curve to the next.

In the 2D-3D projection to the path of another well or plan, it is now possible to specify the MD on the target path
where interception is desired.
In the Ouija calculations where the initial inclination, azimuth, DLS and tool face are specified, where the program
prompts for course length has been modified to prompt for MD.

Internally, where the program calculated the interpolated depth used to measured the closest approach (anticollision),
the interpolation scheme has been improved to be much more accurate.

Internally, where the program calculated the interpolated TVD used to calculate the coordinates of the target well in
the 2D-3D projection (project to another well path case), the interpolation scheme has been improved.

49.1.5:

Couple of internal bug fixes implemented.

The main library has been split with the Hydraulics program becoming separate.
This will allow more space for future additions.

49.1.7:

Corrected a bug in the interpolation routine.

49.1.8:

Added a second display screen in the numeric plot. The current well is also compared with the plan as far as Build
rate, Walk rate, DLS and TFO

49.2:

Since it is not necessary to interpolate a plan for the anticollision program, the default interpolation interval for plans
is NONE. You can still interpolate if you wish.

In the 3D-2D projection routine, the second option is to project parallel to the vertical section plane (2D Case). Now
it is possible to (temporarily) change the projection plane, although the default still is the vertical section plane.

In the well file transfer (to the PC) routine a new option has been created to accommodate the HP49g+. This routine
creates a file in the HOME directory of the calculator that can be transferred to the PC and then converted by easy.exe
so that it can be printed as a survey listing.

49.4: Found a bug in the inverted J profile in the 2D-3D projections. Fixed

49.5 : Note: The following function has been superseded by a new function in Version 50.3 see below

Added Routine in HOME->UTIL->TRFR->IMPOR To allow importing of Surveys files from the PC.
The imported survey file must be in the form " Md1 Inc1 Azm1
Md2 Inc2 Azm2
MDn Incn Azmn"

The Survey file must be edited as above, with the header removed and quotes {"} added before the first MD and after
the last Azimuth.

50.1 Made it possible to transfer well files from one calculator to another (49g+ or 50g) through the Infrared port at
the top of the calculator.
Access from MMENU->UTIL->TRFR->IR
50.2: When the current (and only the current) well file is transferred from one calculator to another through the IR,
the slide information will be transferred as well.
* The “NEXT” calculation within the “SLIDE” calculations, will default to the last projected inclination and
azimuth. If there is no current projection then the values from the last survey will be used.
* The “VIEW” function found in the Survey Menu and the Projections Options menu, will now display a maximum
of 8 instead of 6 surveys per page.
* Previously if a fractional number was entered for Yield Point and Plastic Viscosity, an error would occur. This has
been corrected.
* Jet velocity calculation was added to the bit pressure calculation display
* Other improvements, including being able to accumulate a fixed pressure loss such as the MWD.
* Added a new routine to calculate Available BHA Weight.
* Added a new routine to calculate pump output
* Added a new routine to calculate bit K-Revs

50.3 Completely revamped the Survey importing/exporting feature added in version 49.5 above.
To Import a survey or a plan, a text file must be created with the following format

Md1 Inc1 Azm1

Md2 Inc2 Azm2
MDn Incn Azmn

On many PC based survey and planning programs on the screen where the plan is displayed, it is possible to click on
the first MD and drag to the azimuth column and then drag down to the last row. This should select all the values in
the first three columns (Md, Inc, Az) After the selection is made press Ctrl + C (c for copy).
It is okay if your particular program does not allow to select just the first three columns but instead all the columns.
Also it is okay if you produce the listing through one of the exporting functions of you particular PC survey program.
The main thing to remember is that if there is a header, it must be edited out: see example below:
Assuming you could select the first three columns, the you should open Notepad and paste the values selected and
copied above (Ctrl +C).
I you use export function of your PC based survey program and it produces a listing like the one below:

You should use Notepad to edit the survey file. Once you have the listing in the needed format you should save it
onto the SD card with the name of the well, possibly followed by the letter P for plan or S for survey. The name
should be no longer than 8 characters If the planning program added some sort of ending other than .TXT you should
remove it. For example the above listing was originally named BRUJAS.SAY. The .SAY ending should be edited
out. When a file is saved by Notepad, the ending .TXT will automatically be added to the end.
After the a file with the proper format and name (FILENAME.TXT) is in the SD card, remove it from the PC and
insert it in the calculator slot. Make sure the calculator is off when you insert the card.
Turn the calculator back on and from the Easydrill Main Menu access: UTIL->TRFR->FrmSD.
Next a Help screen will open with the following message:

Press OK to open the

Filer, MOVE or COPY
The Plan or Well File
From SD to 1:ERAM
The steps are as follows: After you press Ok above:
1. The Filer will open, use the arrow keys to highlight SD and press ok
2. On the next screen the contents of the SD card will be visible
3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the File you wish to Import
4. Depending on whether you wish to keep the file in the SD card press MOVE or COPY
5. On the next screen you should choose a destination which in this case has to be 1:ERAM and press ok
6. The next screen will display again the contents of the SD card. Press the ON key (only once) to exit the Filer
7. Next you will get a confirmation dialog box, make sure the file you wished to import is displayed and press
OK.
8. In the next steps you will be required to enter the remaining values of the Tie-on,
TVD, N-S, E-W, Vertical Section (POP), Units etc.

Exporting Survey or Plan for printing.

This option allows you to create a survey listing like this:

Md1 Inc1 Azm1

Md2 Inc2 Azm2
MDn Incn Azmn

This format is suitable for importing into an Excel survey spreadsheet from where you can print the survey listing.
1. From the Easydrill Main Menu press UTIL->TRFR->toSD
2. On the next screen highlight the name of the well file you wish to export and press OK.
3. The next screen will ask you to confirm the file (now with the .txt ending) you wish to export. Choose Yes
accordingly.
The file will be saved to the SD card.
4. Turn the calculator off , remove the SD card and insert it into your PC.
5. Open your spreadsheet of choice and place the cursor at the first MD cell.
6. At the Excel menu bar click on the Data menu option.
7. Then choose Import External Data->Import Data->
8. A dialog box will open asking you to select data source, open the “Look In” drop down menu and choose the SD
card and from there the file you wish to import.
9. On the next dialog box make sure Space is one of the chosen delimiters and Finsh.

The survey or plan file will imported to the first three columns of the spreadsheet. Next you must fill in MANUALLY
the values for the remainder of the Tie On (TVD, N-S, E-W, Vertical section Azimuth (POP).

Note: Different PC based survey programs will require and display de assorted values beyond the MD,Inc, Azm. In
different order, therefore, for compatibility it is not possible to export the complete tie-on line.
