Adapt the stocking rate of the fish in the storage facility according to the conditions: water temperature,
dissolved oxygen availability, water exchange rate, length of storage and kind of fish. Under the best
conditions of cool, well-oxygenated water and short storage time, you may store:
up to 140 kg/m3 if fish are healthy and hardy, and the water exchange is high, such as in a
large-mesh net enclosure;
up to 90 kg/m3 if the fish are in good condition and there is a moderate water exchange or
water is well-aerated;
up to 50 kg/m3 if the water exchange is limited, such as in a storage tank or pond, or if fish are
more sensitive.
