RATIONALE

Maya Angelou is the writer of “I know why the caged bird sings” with her, like protagonist. This
is about two children, Maya and Bailey that one day arrived to Stamp, Arkansas to stay with
her gran mother Mrs. Annie Henderson. All their family are black and this was motive of
mockery for “white folks” like they called to white people. In this book narrated for Maya
shows the discrimination that they suffer, and momma has been present in each episode when
the child lived with her.

From it I decided to write a blog, but taking the position of momma. Due to in the majority of
the book is her who has the authority to defend to her grandchild but do nothing. Furthermore
she suffer it, because there is a judgment and Momma is discriminated just for that another
black man called her “Mrs” and it just is for white people. Although, previously the same men
was taking to the judgment to hit to white women. So, I want to stress the situation that Maya
lived in Stamp, Arkansas, also I am going to use a semi-formal tone. However, racism is evident
throughout the work.

TASK

IS IT A LITTLE DIFFERENCE?

May 14

Being my first publication, I thought it was convenient to discuss about a topic that revolves
around me and would like to share with you to know your opinions. Since I have been in Arkansas
city, the different between white and black people was biggest than anything. For any case
should remain this, there is not some place where a black body have the same conditions like
the “whites”, or think that. Due to it my family have jugged for the white folks, we live like
nobody can imagination it. The community of Arkansas was constituting for all the black
population in the United States, and I cannot understanding why that rancour to us?

My relation with them was nice, although they not do the same. On the other hand, my
grandchild were the most affected for the racism in our city. Once I defend to another black,
which have a little problem with a white folk. He had been hit a white women and I will do all to
protect to my. After that my life changed because I also was court and my dignity was for the
floor; owing to the judge heard as all black population of Arkansas call me, I was Mrs Henderson
to them. Nevertheless he forbid it, should not have respect for us.

There are so many cases that discrimination is the main factor, but the most surprising thing in
all this is how those who are authorized to be white do not take control of social problems; but
they increase racism because they believe the superior race.

I know that we live in a society where we are not accepted, but that does not mean that we ha
ve to treat as something we are not. First of all they are children and not to blame for what
happens around. It is more even authorities defend us, everyone has given us back and we're
not welcome anywhere.
And all this what I share with you, to fight and promote to not remain silent; we need our
voice reaches every corner. Since it is not tolerable that a child of less than fourteen years
have that load the corpse of a white mayor, all on the orders of another person white only. Or
we live isolated from all receiving scraps, as if we were not human beings like them also. Make
the difference, I admit that before not worried my grandchildren or your well-being but it is
something. Now I see the need to assert our rights and go free from discrimination.
