Specifications for FT-IR Spectrometer

This specification sheet is for quantity: 1x FT-IR Spectrometer at Zachry Common Labs. Specifications are
as follows:

1. Powerful and robust mid-IR spectrometer for routine and advanced laboratory analysis.
2. Provide high signal to noise (S/N), >50,000:1
3. Include KBR beam splitter and KBR windows to cover the full MIR range from 8000-340cm-1.
4. Spectral range of the spectrometer should be optionally expandable to 200cm-1 (Far infrared, FIR)
and to 11.000cm-1 (Near Infrared, NIR)
5. Spectral resolution should be better than 0.4cm-1
6. Interferometer should be
a. Permanently aligned
b. Capable of acquiring data in both scanning directions
c. Long lived / Wear-free bearing mechanism
d. Utilize retro-reflecting cube corners for instantaneous correction of instability due to
mirror tilt.
7. All mirrors should be gold coated
8. Should include software controlled aperture wheel. The aperture should provide at least 10
different aperture sizes.
9. Spectrometer should provide the options for a second source to cover the NIR spectral range.
Switch between detector positions is software controlled
10. The detector should be temperature controlled
11. The ADC converter should have 24 bits dynamics range and located directly at the detection unit
inside the spectrometer
12. Interface of the spectrometer to data system should be Ethernet.
13. The main sample compartment should have a large size with a central focus to accommodate the
complete range of commercially available accessories and large customize accessories.
14. Must include the following accessories:
a. Diamond-ATR accessory
i. Diamond crystal should be mounted in the plate by soldering
ii. Extremely long life time of the diamond ATR module
iii. Allow the measurement over the full Mid-IR spectral range
iv. Enables reliable and fast ATR-IR analysis of solid and liquid samples without
sample preparation
v. Working distance >20mm
vi. Quicklock mount for accessory change
b. Mini hand press for small diameter pellets
i. Include 7mm, 3mm and 1mm die sets
ii. Include holder for 7mm, 3mm and 1mm pellets
c. IR sampling kits for transmission analysis
i. Include all kits required for liquid sampling and solid sampling
15. Each sampling accessory should be
a. Quick and easy to exchange sample accessories
b. Automatically be recognized by electronic coding

d. Automatic performance test and load appropriate measurement parameters when
changing the configuration

18. Required warranty:
a. Whole system: 2 years (including parts and labor)
