ZARA

First of all, let me thank you all for coming here today. As you all know, my name
is … Today’s topic is Zara
I’ve divided my presentation into 3 main parts. I’ll start off by giving some basic
information about Berlin. Then I’ll move on to some attractions in this city and I’ll
end with some traditions in Berlin. My presentation will take about 5 minutes.
There will be time for questions after my pres so please don’t interrupt me when
I’m speaking
WHAT IS ZARA?
- Zara is a Spanish clothes and accessories brand, and it is the flagship brand of
Inditex corporations. It keep up with the latest fashion with high quality and yet,
affordable. Its objectives to be the clothing brand for all with the combination of
all these qualities.
BRIEF HISTORY
At first, Ortega established a dress-making factory, Inditex, in 1963 and in 1975, he
started off a small store named Zorba in Spain and then he changed the name into Zara
with no particular intention. Zara then slowly expanded from the town in Spain to the rest
of this country and later to Portugal and after that is US, France and most of the EU.
Today, Zara has close to 6500 stores across 88 countries around the world.
CURRENT OPERATIONS
- The brand is considered a vertically integrated retailer and controls a majority of
the major steps within its supply chain which includes processes of designing,
manufacturing, and distribution of completed products. Zara’s vertical integration,
smaller supply chain, and minimum inventory stock allow the company to be more
responsive and avoid excessive risk
- The supply chain management of Zara is very strong. It has a big distribution
network. This distribution network enables Zara to enhance its operational
efficiencies and thus increase its customer satisfaction
- Design and Production - Zara delivers fashionable and trendy cloth addressing all
tastes through a controlled design and integrated process. Zara designs all its
products itself. design process which involve the whole commercial team ,
designers, market specialist, procurement team and so on to ensure that the
products reach the customer just in time
- Low cost in advertising: Zara's parent company Inditex spends just 0-0.3% of
revenue on advertising their products. They choose to use the revenue to open new
stores.
PROSPECTS FOR THE FUTURE
- The retailer has increased its focus on web operations and investments in
technology, esp virtual reality in dressing rooms.
- Smart mirrors in the fitting rooms can detect items including suitable products,
different size options and additional colors. Shoppers can order from store
associates via handheld devices, or via Zara’app by scanning the label.
- The flagship store will be equipped with visual-recognition-enabled stations that
can automatically identify the garments. Shoppers will only need to confirm the
items on-screen before paying by mobile devices or card. To pick up their orders,
shoppers can scan QR codes or type in PIN codes, and a dynamic robot will fetch
their parcels from two small on-site warehouses within seconds.
- This is the end of my final part and I’d like to sum up the main points. First ,
I gave you some brief overview about …. then I introduced …. and finally, I
talked about …. Overall, Zara is the world’s favorite fast fashion brand of
today. Thank you all for listening
